I hope you have a lover or a loved one staying by your side, listening.

I hope that even if they don't listen to you, they are there, present.

I hope you have foods that bring you comfort, something to savor.

I hope that there is entertainment on offer, so you can hibernate.

I hope you are peaceful, away from the world and things don't spiral.

I hope the best for you. But I can't be the one holding your hand.

I need to hold mine. My hands are thick.

And they don't fit into the gap between my heart and my mind.

I keep trying.
